What We Do
The Stop the War Coalition was founded in October 2001, one month after George W. Bush announced the "war on terror".
Since then we have organised hundreds of events, both nationally and locally, opposing the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the threat of military attacks on Iran, supporting Palestinian rights, campaigning against anti-Muslim racism and organising in defence of civil liberties.
We have organised over 30 national demonstrations, which have included the largest protests ever held in Britain, most memorably when two million gathered on London's streets on 15 February 2003.
Other events have included hundreds of public meetings across the country, international peace conferences, naming the dead vigils, lobbies of parliament and anti-war cultural events. |
