London's Tricycle Theatre's much acclaimed festival aimed at giving audiences a better understanding of the culture and history of Afghanistan returns for a short run prior to a tour of the United States.

The Great Game - taking its title from the nineteenth century power scramble for domination and influence in Afghanistan - includes plays, films, talks and exhibitions.

Thirteen playwrights have written plays for the festival: Richard Bean, David Edgar, David Greig, Amit Gupta, Ron Hutchinson, Stephen Jeffreys, Abi Morgan, Ben Ockrent, J T Rogers, Simon Stephens, Colin Teevan, Naomi Wallace, Joy Wilkinson.
