A presentation by Reiko Yamada and Midori Yamada. The Hibakusha are the surviving victims of the 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Born in Hiroshima in 1934, Reiko Yamada was 10 when the US atomic bomb struck Hiroshima. As a vice president of the Tokyo Federation of A-Bomb Survivors Associations she has visited many countries to appeal for an end to nuclear weapons.
She is accompanied by Midori Yamada, a second generation Hibakusha. Daughters and sons of survivors fear the health effects of radiation on them and their children.
