Khalid was on the delegation attempting to lay flowers in remembrance of Gaza’s dead at the protest on 18 January. His moving speech compares the repressive actions of the British police to that witnessed in his home country of Egypt during the revolution. Khalid said that in London on 18 January he, “tasted the shadow of what may be the authoritarianism to come.”
