The StWC Steering Committee has voted to support the ASLEF and other rail unions in their strike action for decent pay and against damaging restructuring.
Amid the biggest cost of living crisis in our lifetime, these strikes provide a fantastic example. They will help us all in the fight to stop the government-driven race to the bottom on working conditions and practices. We offer wholehearted solidarity.
We believe that the priorities of the government need to change fundamentally.
Taxpayers’ money should be used for our public services, for protecting people’s livelihoods and not wasted on foreign wars and conflicts.
A victory for the ASLEF will help us all in the struggle for a fairer more peaceful society.
