The Middle East has been plunged into another war by Israel with the military and diplomatic support of the US and UK governments. Israeli politicians speak openly about reshaping the Middle East.
Exactly the same language as Bush and Blair deployed before they plunged the world into the previous Middle East war. But if terrorism is defined as an attack on civilians, it clearly fits Israel.
Biden says he does not want a wider war in the Middle East. He can stop one. All he needs do is halt Israel’s slaughter of the Palestinians in Gaza by stopping the supply of weapons to Israel. Without that military support, Netanyahu could not pursue Israel’s wars against Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen and Iran.
We are facing another Middle East war. The UK is deeply implicated but a powerful anti-war movement could force it to play a role in halting Israel’s current genocidal rampage.
